✅ Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
1 large head of cabbage
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sweetness)
1 tbsp olive oil
✅ Instructions
- Prepare the Cabbage
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Remove the core of the cabbage and place the whole head into the boiling water.
Let the leaves soften, then peel them off one by one and set aside.
- Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Combine well until fully mixed.
- Roll the Cabbage
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each cabbage leaf.
Fold the sides and roll tightly like a small burrito.
- Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, sugar, and olive oil.
- Assemble the Dish
Spread a thin layer of sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down.
Pour the remaining sauce over the top.
- Bake
Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
Remove foil for the last 10 minutes for a richer color.
