plum dumplings🇭🇺..

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the potatoes: Boil until tender, then mash while still warm. Let cool completely.
  2. Make the dough: Add flour, egg, butter, and salt to the cooled mashed potatoes. Knead until soft and smooth. Add more flour if too sticky.
  3. Prep the plums: Remove pits. If large, cut in half. Fill each with 1 tsp sugar (and a pinch of cinnamon if desired).
  4. Form dumplings: Roll out dough on a floured surface (~½ inch thick). Cut into squares large enough to wrap around each plum. Place a plum in the center, pinch to seal, and roll into a ball.
  5. Boil dumplings: Drop into boiling salted water. When they rise to the top, cook for 3–4 more minutes. Remove with slotted spoon.
  6. Prepare breadcrumb coating: In a large skillet, melt butter and toast breadcrumbs until golden. Add sugar and mix well.
  7. Coat the dumplings: Roll each warm dumpling in the sweet toasted breadcrumbs.

🍽 Serve Warm:

Dust with powdered sugar or extra cinnamon sugar if you like. These are often enjoyed as a dessert, snack, or even a sweet main course.
