1. Prep the Onion Rings
- Cut onions into thick rings and separate layers (use the largest rings for stuffing).
- Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
2. Make the Filling
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, jalapeños, garlic powder, paprika, salt & pepper until smooth.
- Spoon or pipe filling between two onion rings, pressing gently to seal. Repeat for all rings.
3. Bread the Rings
- Dredge each stuffed ring in:
1️⃣ Flour (shake off excess)
2️⃣ Beaten eggs
3️⃣ Panko breadcrumbs (press firmly to coat well) - Chill for 15 mins (helps coating stick better).
4. Cook to Crispy Perfection
- Deep Fry: Heat oil to 375°F (190°C), fry 2-3 mins per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Air Fryer: Spray with oil, cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 mins, flipping halfway.
- Oven Bake: At 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 mins (flip halfway) for a lighter option.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
- Best dipped in: Ranch, sriracha mayo, or cool sour cream.
- Garnish: Extra bacon, green onions, or a sprinkle of smoked paprika.
