Instructions:

  1. Soak liver slices in cold water or milk for 30 minutes to reduce bitterness (optional). Pat dry.
  2. Heat butter/oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft and caramelized, about 15 minutes. Remove onions and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add liver slices. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 2-3 minutes per side until browned but still tender inside. Don’t overcook!
  4. Return onions to the pan, mix gently, and heat through for 1 minute.
  5. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or your favorite side.
