1. Cook the beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Mix the sauce:
In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, and sour cream (if using).
3. Layer it up:
Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Grease a 9×13β casserole dish.
- First layer: Half the sliced potatoes
- Then: Half the cooked beef
- Pour: Half the soup mixture
- Repeat layers
- Sprinkle cheese on top
4. Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, then bake another 15β20 minutes until cheese is golden and potatoes are tender.
Let it sit 5β10 mins before serving. (The flavor gets even better!)
